Questions? We’ve Got Answers
Why do they come as sheets in a box instead of a roll?
Honest answer: our manufacturing facility had a fire before our first production run. We lost the equipment to make rolls, so we switched to sheets in a box for launch. The paper is identical — same absorbency, same strength, same rice fiber. Pulls out one at a time like a tissue. Rolls return with our next production run.
Is a sheet really as absorbent as a roll?
Yes — identical. A "roll" is just a bunch of sheets connected together. Our 3-ply rice fiber sheet absorbs more than a traditional Bounty half-sheet and dramatically more than recycled paper towel.
Is this made from food?
No. Paddy is made from rice straw — the dry stalk left after rice is harvested. The rice grain becomes food. The straw is normally burned. We rescue it before it’s burned.
Is it strong enough for wet messes?
Yes. Rice fiber is longer and more tensile than wood or bamboo fiber, which makes it hold together better when wet. It handles spills, grease, and wiping down surfaces without falling apart.
Why isn't it bright white?
Because we never bleach it. White paper towels get their color from chlorine bleach. Paddy's natural cream color is the color of the rice fiber itself — better for you, better for food contact, better for the planet.
Can I use it with food?
Yes. Because Paddy is unbleached and made without PFAS, BPA, microplastics, or formaldehyde, it's actually safer for food contact than most paper towels on the market.
Is the box recyclable?
Yes. The box is 100% paperboard — curbside recyclable everywhere. No plastic window, no plastic wrap.
How many sheets are in the box?
120 sheets. Roughly equal to a jumbo roll of traditional paper towels — but you only pull one sheet at a time, so most people use significantly less than they would with a roll.
Why rice instead of bamboo?
Bamboo is a big improvement over trees. But bamboo is still purpose-grown — land is cleared to plant it. Rice straw already exists as agricultural waste. We're not growing anything new — we're saving something old.

Toilet Paper Hasn’t Changed In 150 Years.
For over a century, we’ve made paper the same way.
Grow a tree. Grow bamboo.
Cut it down.
Use it once.
Throw it away.
Repeat.
We knew there had to be a better way.
Every year, rice farmers harvest their crops.
They’re left with huge piles of rice straw.
Most of it has no value, so it's burned.
But those fires fill the nearby cities with smoke and air pollution.
So we started working directly with farmers to rescue the rice straw before it’s burned.
Then we turn it into soft, strong toilet paper.
